Côa Museum wins Baku Conquest

The Côa Museum won the first prize in the public building category of the first edition of the Baku International Architecture Prize, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Union of Architects of Azerbaijan. The project by the architects Camilo Rebelo and Pedro Tiago Pimentel was distinguished among the 300 that went to the contest.

“The materiality of the building evokes the existing quarries in the region through two distinct natures: the matter of concrete and the texture and color of the local stone”, can be read in the description of the project, recalls P3.

But Camilo Rebelo and Pedro Tiago Pimentel were not the only ones. In the category of landscape architecture, Raulino Silva won the third place with the project “Equipment for Events (II)”, made from natural materials, located in the garden of a farm in Vila Nova de Famalicão and designed to support events , P3 still advances in the same news.

Azerbaijan promoted this year the first edition of the Baku International Architecture Prize, a prize organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Union of Architects of Azerbaijan and supported by the International Union of Architects and which highlighted with the first place the Museum of Art and Archeology of the Côa Valley, in the category of public buildings.
