Porto

Function:

Refurbishment of the existing building, built in the 1920s, with the aim of restoring its original design and use. The intervention, whose architectural project was designed by Atelier 111, included demolishing the core of the building and opting for a new structure made up of elements (walls, slabs and stairs) in CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) structural timber. This type of wood combines the advantages of solid wood construction, such as fire resistance and sound insulation, with the ecological advantages of wood as a building element.
