Single Family House – Quinta de Santa Margarida

This single-family house, designed by architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, is part of the Quinta de Sta Margarida housing complex in Oeiras.

The villa has 4 floors and was entirely built externally in exposed concrete. It is formed by a rigid set of walls and slabs in reinforced concrete, forming a rigid box, which allowed to guarantee the necessary capacity to overcome large spans, ensuring the creation of very wide spaces, intended in some areas, by the author of the architectural project. Also noteworthy is the care and rigour of the execution of the exposed concrete elements, both through the study of the composition of the concrete and the treatment of the surfaces and materials used in its execution.
