University Pole Interface

Porto

Function:

The building is an isolated volume located on the promenade of the Asprela University campus over the metro line. It is characterized by having a roof with a curved garden elevation and an almost entirely glazed façade.

The exposed concrete structure with laminar elements has its roof supported by small walls at the ends and over the central cores where the toilets are located.

Due to the existence of the metro station underneath the building, the transmission of loads and the possible location of the supports was the most challenging element of the project.
